Alexander Evgenievich Zakondyryn, Director of the Unified Scientific Centre of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources—the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNII Ecology"—a member of the Public Chamber of Russia, and a Doctor of Economic Sciences, has become a member of the Board of Trustees of the "Irbis" Association. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the organisation’s governing bodies.
The Association noted his high professional authority in the fields of ecology and environmental protection, as well as his significant contribution to the development of scientific approaches to biodiversity conservation and the development of Russia’s specially protected natural areas.

Alexander Evgenievich chaired the Public Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia from 2021 to 2025. In 2024, he was appointed Director of the Unified Scientific Centre of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia—FSBI "VNII Ecology". Since 2026, he has been a member of the Public Chamber of Russia from the Arkhangelsk Region.
The "Irbis" Association emphasises that the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Natural Resources' leading scientific institution on the Board of Trustees will help strengthen the organisation’s scientific and expert base and develop its environmental projects.
