"Irbis" Association and Russian Ministry of Natural Resources Sign Landmark Cooperation Agreement

In a significant move to bolster environmental conservation, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Interregional Association "Irbis" and the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources during the XI Nevsky International Environmental Congress in St Petersburg.
The document was signed by Daria Petrova, Director of the Interregional Association "Irbis," and Konstantin Tsyganov, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
The agreement paves the way for new opportunities to combine the efforts of the state and public organisations in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
The parties have agreed to implement joint projects in the sphere of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. Particular attention will be devoted to matters of sustainable natural resource management, public education, and engaging civil society in nature protection.
The signing of this agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources is a crucial step in the study and conservation of the snow leopard in our country. Together, we will be able to achieve far more, expanding the scope of our collaboration in scientific research, monitoring, and environmental education. We are grateful to the Ministry for its assistance and support of our initiatives.

Within the framework of the congress, Daria Petrova also participated in the roundtable "Biodiversity as a Strategic Priority: Uniting the Efforts of the State, Business, and Society," which discussed the consolidation of efforts to effectively protect unique natural ecosystems and endangered species. The "Irbis" Association expressed its readiness to actively participate in the formation and implementation of comprehensive programmes for the protection of Russia’s biodiversity.
The "Irbis" Association was founded in 2021 by Ali Uzdenov with the goal of preserving rare animal species. Mr Uzdenov is a member of the Russian Geographical Society, Chairman of the "Living Nature of the Steppe" Association, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Board of Trustees of the Sailugemsky National Park, and founder and patron of the "AltaiEcoSphere" Musk Deer Population Support Centre.
