The film was shot by directors Vadim Vitovtsev and Ilya Tsyganov in Sailyugemsky National Park in the Altai Republic on the initiative and with the support of the Interregional Association "Center for the Study and Conservation of the Snow Leopard "Irbis".
At the stage of preparation for the filming of the documentary "The Master of the Altai Mountains", the group had difficulties — on the very first day, a bear took over the empty camp: he smashed the trailers and tore the mattresses. Daria Petrova, the screenwriter and producer of the film, told the secrets of the painting at a creative meeting in Veliky Novgorod. The filming process dragged on for three years, the specialists worked in the harsh extreme conditions of the Altai Mountains, and all in order to tell the audience the story of a rare and majestic predator that was on the verge of extinction.
Daria Petrova thanked Veliky Novgorod for the hospitality and the wonderful exhibition of snow leopards, which was prepared for the show by the participants of the Novgorod art club "Sun on Canvas". The works of young Novgorod artists will soon go to Altai, where the International Eco Altai Forum will be held in September.
