The premiere of the film "The master of the Altai Mountains" took place in Veliky Novgorod

On June 26, the premiere of the film "The Master of the Altai Mountains" took place at the multimedia center "Russia". Ali Uzdenov, a resident of Rostov and founder of the Interregional Association "Irbis", became the author of the idea and producer of the first Russian feature film about the endangered animal. The audience enthusiastically accepted the picture, and then talked with the screenwriter Daria Petrova.

The Interregional Association "Irbis" would like to thank Andrey Nikitin, Governor of the Novgorod Region, for his help in organizing the screening of the film for the children.
"Indescribable emotions! How warmly and sincerely the children welcomed us! How many interesting questions, and what wonderful drawings with snow leopard were prepared for the show"
— comments Daria Petrova, the film’s producer, who presented the film and answered the audience’s questions.
The film was shot by directors Vadim Vitovtsev and Ilya Tsyganov in Sailyugemsky National Park in the Altai Republic on the initiative and with the support of the Interregional Association "Center for the Study and Conservation of the Snow Leopard "Irbis".

At the stage of preparation for the filming of the documentary "The Master of the Altai Mountains", the group had difficulties — on the very first day, a bear took over the empty camp: he smashed the trailers and tore the mattresses. Daria Petrova, the screenwriter and producer of the film, told the secrets of the painting at a creative meeting in Veliky Novgorod. The filming process dragged on for three years, the specialists worked in the harsh extreme conditions of the Altai Mountains, and all in order to tell the audience the story of a rare and majestic predator that was on the verge of extinction.

Daria Petrova thanked Veliky Novgorod for the hospitality and the wonderful exhibition of snow leopards, which was prepared for the show by the participants of the Novgorod art club "Sun on Canvas". The works of young Novgorod artists will soon go to Altai, where the International Eco Altai Forum will be held in September.
"The snow leopard, of course, is the theme of Altai, but it also lives in Russia in Tuva, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and Buryatia. And our task was to draw people's attention to the problem of the disappearance of this animal. At the time of filming, there were only 75 of them. For comparison, our neighbors in Mongolia have much more snow leopards. The reason is poaching. These beautiful, graceful animals are on the verge of survival"
— said Daria Petrova.
