The Irbis Association took part in the opening of the Przewalski’s horse reintroduction centre

The visitor centre of the second Przewalski’s horse reintroduction centre in Russia was opened at the Khakassky Reserve. The Przewalski’s horse is a rare wild species that is being returned to its historical habitat. Special words of gratitude were addressed to Ali Mussayevich Uzdenov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Irbis Association. Viktor Nepomnyashchiy, Director of the Khakassky Reserve, particularly noted his assistance in organising the transportation of the animals. As part of the efforts to establish a new population of Przewalski’s horses, the Association supported the transportation of animals from the Orenburg Reserves to Khakassia.

In October 2025, eight horses arrived at the Khakassky Reserve and were divided into two family groups. Already in 2026, two mares gave birth to foals. Today, the animals are located in the "Kamyzyak Steppe with Lake Ulukh‑Kol" area, where a semi‑free population is being formed — the conditions are as close as possible to the natural habitat. It is especially important for us to be part of such projects — to support concrete actions that help return rare species to the wild and create conditions for the formation of sustainable populations.
