Specialists explained to the audience:
- What a camera trap is and how it works.
- Why these autonomous devices are essential in inaccessible mountains.
- How exactly camera images help study the snow leopard and save rare animal species from poaching.
The culmination of the event was the presentation of current camera trap models. Guests saw and touched the actual devices and viewed exclusive footage from the wild, obtained by scientists during real equipment use. Spectators could see for themselves the 'hidden life' of the snow leopard and its neighbours in their natural habitat.
The "Irbis" Association thanks Roszapovedtsentr for the invitation to be part of the educational project at VDNKh. Special thanks go to our adult and youngest guests for their genuine attention, live questions, and sincere interest in the conservation of Russia’s nature.
