The "Irbis" Association participated as a speaker at the expert session "Development of Ecotourism", organised by the ANO "National Priorities" platform. The event brought together representatives of specialised organisations to discuss pressing issues concerning the preservation of natural heritage and the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
During the discussion, Daria Petrova, Director of the "Irbis" Association, highlighted several important points: support for specially protected natural areas (SPNA) and nature reserves through the development of accompanying infrastructure and the attraction of extra-budgetary funding; reduction of human pressure on nature by implementing organised tourism principles and controlling visitor flows.
These themes are familiar to the Association, as we must take these aspects into account in our work to protect the snow leopard and its habitats. Participating in such events is an opportunity to present our experience and align our work vectors with colleagues from related fields. Constructive dialogue with the professional community is necessary to develop balanced solutions that will combine the development of tourism accessibility with the absolute preservation of fragile natural ecosystems.
The "Irbis" Association extends its gratitude to ANO "National Priorities" for the invitation to participate, as well as to colleagues for the engaging discussion, substantive questions, and readiness for cooperation.
