Daria Petrova, Director of the Irbis Association, took part in the 4th International Forum "Falcon Day", held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum, and spoke at the session "Building Responsibility: Environmental Education a s a Tool for Nature Conservation" with the presentation "Popularising Rare Animal Species as a Tool for Biodiversity Conservation".In her speech, Daria Petrova presented the results of the saker falcon reintroduction programme, which the Association has been implementing since 2021 in the Sailugemsky National Park (Republic of Altai). Using the hacking method — a non‑contact approach to raising chicks in conditions close to natural — 74 birds have been released.

At the same time, the saker falcon population in Russia has declined by 80% over the past 40 years, with poaching re maining the main cause. The Republic of Altai remains one of the key reserves for the species in Siberia. The report also included data on other rare species the Association is helping to conserve. According to the results of the All‑Russian census in 2026, the snow leopard population in Russia totalled 94 individuals. The transboundary census of the argali mountain sheep conducted with Mongolia in 2025 recorded 7,133 individuals. In total, over 30,000 participants have taken part in environmental education events organised by the Association across the country.
