Daria petrova, director of the interregional association “irbis”, became a participant of the 9th world conference on mountain ugulates

From October 12 to 15, representatives of protected areas and conservation organizations from around the globe convened in Dushanbe. Experts shared their insights on researching mountain ungulates, addressing successes and conservation methodologies. With the backing of the Irbis Association, the Argali census was conducted, revealing a population of 6,921−6,981 individuals since 2014, marking a doubling of numbers.
The event featured various activities, including raids, international expeditions aimed at facilitating knowledge exchange, ecological education campaigns, and scientific expeditions within the premises of the Sailugem National Park, with the park’s personnel actively engaging in the conference proceedings. The Irbis Association expressed their gratitude to their Tajik counterparts for their gracious hospitality and the fruitful outcomes of their collaborative endeavors
