The Irbis Association delivered a report on the effectiveness of nature conservation projects through the lens of multilateral partnership. Within the event, a session titled "The Price of Responsibility: a Matrix of Actions for the Benefit of Biodiversity" was held. Using two flagship areas as examples — projects to conserve the snow leopard, implemented within a consortium with other organizations, as well as work to study and conserve the pallas’s cat in collaboration with the Mars company and the A. N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences — we demonstrated how combining the resources and expertise of different participants makes it possible to achieve more significant results.
The main idea is that conserving rare species is a shared task that requires systematic cooperation between the state, business, scientists, and the public. The participants discussed how to build effective interaction between business, the state, and NGOs, what tools can support nature conservation projects, and how to assess the effectiveness of investments in conserving rare species. We thank our partners — the Mars company and the Nika Foundation — for the invitation and for organizing the Irbis Association’s participation in the forum. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of an important professional dialogue and to jointly develop effective practices for biodiversity conservation!
