"Irbis" Association to Support the "Land of the Snow Leopard" Festival in the Altai Republic

The "Irbis" Association and its partners extend a warm invitation to all residents and visitors of the republic to a spectacular "spotted" celebration this spring. This year's festival will once again feature a vibrant costume procession through the heart of the city.
Festival Details:
  • Date & Time: 31 May 2025, at 12:00 PM
  • Location: Central Square, Gorno-Altaisk
Hundreds of participants will parade across the central square in incredible costumes, presenting themselves before a panel of judges in various categories.
A key highlight is the main prize in the "Friends of the Snow Leopard Cubs" nomination for teams of 7 to 20 people: a 150,000 rouble voucher for a household appliance store.
The Altai region celebrates its own Snow Leopard Day on 26 May. The festival traces its roots back to 2010, when the first "Land of the Snow Leopard" festival was held on a district level in Kosh-Agach, attended by just 70 people. The date of this initial "spotted" celebration was designated as an annual event. Over 15 years, the eco-festival has grown into a major republican and even international occasion, having welcomed participants from Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.
In recent years, the festival in the regional capital, Gorno-Altaisk, has been marked by a grand costume procession, which anyone can join. Now is the perfect time to gather your team and start designing your costumes!
This year’s celebration is held with the support of the Government of the Altai Republic, the Interregional Association "Irbis," and the company "Evalar."
