On December 12, a ceremony was held in the Kremlin to present state awards. During the event, Ali Uzdenov expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Putin for his contributions to the conservation of Russia’s natural heritage and its animal population. In recognition of his efforts, Uzdenov presented Putin with a gift: a unique photograph of a snow leopard. This photograph was captured by our partners and friends, the movement of volunteers "In the footsteps of the snow leopard," on the Chikhachev Ridge in the Altai Republic.
In his address, Uzdenov acknowledged Putin’s commitment to environmental conservation, particularly in safeguarding Russia’s biodiversity. He presented the President with a gift: a unique photograph of a snow leopard, captured in the Altai Republic’s Chikhachev Ridge by the organization’s volunteers. Uzdenov also highlighted the Association "Irbis's" efforts in conducting a nationwide census of snow leopards, which revealed a population of 87 individuals.
Many years ago, you drew attention to the fact that our country could lose such a rare and beautiful cat as a leopard. This year, the Snow Leopard Association conducted an all-Russian accounting of snow leopards, and we can say that we have 87 of them.
